EoD BF2 Weapons...

:S To Lotte,

Hey. I know that you discontinued EoD for BF2 but its there any chance that you can make a list of the weapons that you have in that mod? And can you add pictures, if it's not too much to ask. Thanks.

The list of weapons in EOD BF2 is not a problem. Pictures of all those weapons would take me a long time and to do them as indviduals. It would take a lot of pictures! Just play the mod if you wish to see the weapons. :)

As for what is in the mod and this is not neccessarily everything, but as best I can remember!

AK 47, AKMS, Arisaka, Arisaka Carbine, Bazooka, Bouncing Betty, Car 15, Car 15 Silenced, Claymore, Colt 1911, Dragunov, Dynamite, F1 Grenade, G3, Grease Gun, K98, M1 Carbine, M1 Garand, M14, M16, M21, M40, M60, M79, Mac 10, Mas 36, Mas 38, Mas 49, Mas 49/56, Mat 49, Mosin Nagant, Mosin Nagant Sniper, Nambu, Off 37 Grenade, Pa 35, PPSH 41, PPSH 43, Remington 870, RPD, RPG, SKS/Simonov, SLR, STG 44, Sterling, SVT 40, Tokarov, Type 56, Wather P38, XM177

Of course, various hand grenades, knives, satchels and other weapon types and variations of the above can be found in the mod. Most are accurate representations of their real life counterparts, as best that can be done in a video game mod, done by a team with limited resources. (We had fun making them and putting them in game.)

Hey Tran, any chance to give some hints on how to render BF2 models BF1942 old style way? 3dmax?

8) TrahnLee,

Thank you for the weapons list. At least I have a clear idea of what you have in the mod. Now I can come back to this post and use it as my reference.

A very very simple way to take a look at the weapons (and any other object):

  1. Install WinRAR, WinZIP or any other program to extract compressed files.

  2. go to BF-Meshview Website and download the latest version and the required runtime files. Just extract it to any folder, there's no need to 'install' it.

  3. Go to your EoD objects folder, located here: C:\.......\Battlefield 2\mods\eod\objects.
    There's a file called weapons_client.zip.
Open it and extract the weapons/handheld folder to any directory on your harddrive

  4. Search for any *.bundlemesh file. Right mouse click / open with... / programm... / bfmeshview.exe

Have fun to look at any handweapon or other objects :)

Looks straightforward enough... gotta try that!

You also can take a look at Battlefield 1942 .SM (standardmesh) files but you'll have to extract the standardmesh.rfa first with WinRFA.
These are the first simple steps to get a modder :D

That's interesting..I extracted standardmesh.rfa with winRFA and used the Meshviewer tool. Nothing seems to animate although I try. BF modding is complex..

It's a shame I haven't played BF2, always been using a budget computer. I'm just waiting for BFV in the mail too..I wonder how far EoD has been made for it

We did a version of EoD For Battlefield Vietnam. It was not too bad! However, I am not sure anyone plays it anymore.. I know they play BFV, but I doubt they play our mod for it.
