Tools of the trade

3 Photos of some of the tools of the trade in Vietnam. Can't wait to see the VC off with these in Redux (or better yet with quadruple m60's mounted on my Huey)

Recognize

OK The shotgun must be the model Rem 870 ? Cannot see what Colt model the 5.56 is. The sniper rifle could be the M70 rifle with a
Redfield Accur-Trac 3x-9x -40MM scope. BUT there was a model 40 used also. The model 40 is shown on the right. http://looserounds.files.wordpress.com/2…jpg?w=300&h=224

Tools of EoD-Redux

Let me know if there is something terrible wrong.
I'm no weapon fanatic and not very familar with the weapons of Vietnam War and imho all weapons of the world could be food for a bonfire
I'm especially not sure with the 'XM-177'. This is looking more like a M4 / M16 variant???
Did it exist in Vietnam War at all?

xm-177

It seems like its use may have been special forces in Viet Nan. Today's forces use the M-4 5.56mm NATO Carbine as far i can tell. Back to Viet Nam there were so many versions used of all types of weapons that you could see WW !! weapons till the 1970s when you saw R&D weapons that did and didn't work. Colt made so many variations on its basic weapon including the first model that got many GI s killed due to jamming. AR model I think. That is what I hear and read. I forget what battle that became apparent when many troops died trying to clear jams from the rifle while US the platoon got massacred . Then after the M16 A1 or was it later?? It became more reliable. Of course my opinion :P

Junga

The XM177 was in the war theater :D
